Financial backing is the largest barrier to the promotion of energy conservation and green energy projects.
The City of Toronto’s BBP Loan Repayment Reserve Fund offers interest free repayable loans to help overcome that barrier. These interest free loans are available to building owners in the MASH sector, and not-for-profit organizations, as well as private multifamily buildings.
Projects receiving interest free loans may also be considered separately for Energy Savings incentives that BBP offers in partnership with Toronto Hydro.
Application for a BBP loan is a two-stage process. Starting with a short ‘Intent to Apply’ form to be submitted to the
Energy Efficiency Office. If your project is deemed eligible you will then be asked to submit a detailed application including a comprehensive feasibility study and other documentation.
Please note that the Sustainable Energy Funds are not accepting any new applications to the Toronto Energy Conservation Fund and/or the Toronto Green Energy fund until further notice.
